Family Gold Burglaries – Keep Your Jewellery Safe

West Yorkshire Police are seeing a rise in burglaries across Bradford where offenders are specifically targeting high‑value gold jewellery—often known as family gold. With gold prices remaining high, this type of jewellery is increasingly attractive to organised criminals.

Offenders are commonly entering homes through rear doors or windows, or by attacking weak cylinder locks, before carrying out quick searches of bedrooms and other places where jewellery is often stored.

A significant number of victims have been from Asian communities, where sentimental and high‑value gold items are more likely to be kept at home.

How to Reduce Your Risk:

If you see suspicious behaviour, call 101.
If a crime is in progress or there is immediate danger, call 999.
